Steyning COFE Primary School: Afternoon Tea Party

As part of our Scented Garden Topic the children in year 2 celebrated the end of their learning by hosting a garden party.

They shared their knowledge and showcased the plants that they had grown. The children began work on the garden in May of this year and have transformed the garden by growing and planting everything from seed which included both flowers and vegetables.

We invited our parents in for afternoon tea with rhubarb scones made by the children from their freshly grown rhubarb, they also made lavender and lemon biscuits, lavender soap and pressed flower cards.

As you can see from the pictures it was an amazing afternoon and the children managed to raise £279.00 to continue to maintain the garden.
