Steyning Downland Scheme: Gateway Building Landscape progress
Progress with the landscaping at the SDS Gateway building continues - readers will be relieved to know that we at last have a pond that holds water, thanks to the hard work of some Steyning Grammar School 6th Formers and a crack team from the SDS Conservation Volunteers, led by SDS Steering Group member, the very aptly named, Dave Buckett (pictured).A big thank you too to George and Jo from Mouse Cottage, for allowing us to fill it from their tap (the plan is to use rainwater from now on by the way).
A visit to the Gateway around now will be rewarded with the sight of a wide range of old arable annuals in full flower, including Corn Cockle and Corn Marigold - the bees love 'em!
